In light of this I would we could kick off a blog which shares some of the problems all businesses are facing in their data management, how they have approached them and the learnings and successes they have gotten out of it. Together we can work to build and share systems and processes which make our businesses work for us, our staff and our customers. To start us off, you always need to look at the challenge of Data Management not as a problem but as an opportunity. We cannot stress how vital to success it is. It’s a chance to leverage your staff, cut costs, and secure your future as a viable business beyond 2020. I was at a conference last year and one of the key note speakers had a quote something along the lines of: “If businesses haven’t addressed data management and Industry 4.0 in 5 years, they won’t be around in 10”. This was from a senior member of the Australian Ministry of Business. There really is so much top-down conviction from political and business leaders about the need for small and medium businesses to adapt to the changing business environment.
